Academicians: 7 academicians and corresponding member of various academies; Doctors of Chemistry and Engineering - 17, Philosophy Doctors (Chemistry and Engineering) - 79. 2. Major research base of SSC is located in shosse Entuziastov, Moscow. The research division of GNIIChTEOS disposes of unique experimental base including multipurpose pilot plant made of heat-resistant glass "SIMAX" for especially pure matter production, as well as physical-chemical center where NMR spectrometers Bruker AVANCE 600 and Bruker AM-360, Fourier-IR spectrometers Bruker IFS-113 and Nicolet 6700, particle size and shape laser analyzer CIS-100 made by Ankersmid, nano-particle size laser analyzer by means of dynamic light scattering Nanotrac Ultra made by Microtrac. Inc, x-ray unit for spectrum estimation SPECTROSCAN-MAX-GV, atomic absorption spectophotometer AA DUO (AA 24OZ и AA 240FZ) made by Varian, coulometric titrator 756 KF with a furnace and other tools are used. The Centre is engaged in structure identification of a diversity of organic and organoelement monomers and polymers, purity determination of products obtained under laboratory and commercial conditions, kinetic measurements and work in close cooperation with Institute divisions, other commercial and research organization and academy.
3. Scientific achievement of SSC RF GNIIChTEOS in 1997 – 2005 were presented in 71 Russian and foreign exhibitions and were awarded 84 diplomas and 56 medals.
4. Due to unique performance the organoelement compounds are employed actually in all branches of the national economy and enginery. 5. Much attention is paid to highly-qualified personnel training through postgraduate education, and basic chairs of M.V.Lomonosov MITKhT and D.I.Mendeleev RKhTU. 6. SSC RF GNIIChTEOS is a member of quite a few international organizations: IUPAC, International Union of Group IV Elements Chemistry, European Union on Biomaterials etc. SSC RF GNIIChTEOS cooperates with активно сотрудничает с фирмами German, U.S., Sweden, South Korean, Taiwan, Chinese and other companies. During 1997-1999 12 Contracts and Agreements were concluded with foreign companies.
7. SSC RF GNIIChTEOS specializes in the development of environmentally safe high technologies and unique organoelement materials. Among most promising technologies developed at the Institute and implemented into pilot and commercial production the following should be noted: silicone monomers production by gas-phase thermal condensation, hydrosilylation, direct synthesis of alkoxysilanes, composite production through cascade reactions, CVD by metal carbonyl thermal decomposition, original non-waste synthesis of ultra-pure matters for semiconductor engineering, synthesis of a wide range of organoboron compounds, production of catalysts, antiknocks, carbonyls, aerosil, silica gel for insulin and pharmaceutical compositions cleaning.
On the basis of the processes developed in GNIIChTEOS a wide product range was produced. They are paintwork materials, silicone fluids, water-repellent agents, sealants, adhesives, semiconductors, ceramic materials, retroreflecting materials, SiEl compounds for fiber optics, electronics and medicine, controlled immunosorbents for directed drug administration, biological preparations for medicine and agriculture on the basis of silicon and germanium etc.
Due to large quantity of fundamental and applied research in organoelement chemistry the Institute got itself a name both in this country and abroad. Government bodies’ support and assistance should particularly emphasized.
